Afro-Brazilian resistance doesn’t need white arms hitting black drums. On the other hand, chilling to Wagner may not be the best way to voice our musical solidarity. Everything in between has mixture at its core. The least we can do is be honest: about our confusion, our contradictions, and the origins of our inspiration, as well as our outrage. So, that’s where we will start, remembering that it is the very least.
